ALISON O'RIORDAN

I am the director of AOR Sports Consultancy, and have a biomechanics and education background. I am able to utilise these specialisms when working on athlete and coach development.

I am an Athletics Australia Level 5 (Master) coach and a British Athletics Level 3, and have successfully coached a number of Championship medalists.

I have held a number of professional sporting positions, including:

• High Performance Throws Coach for the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS)
• National Performance Manager for Throws and Coach Education Co-ordinator with the Athletics Australia Paralympic Preparation Program (AA-PPP).
• Former member of the Athletics Australia Coach Advisory Commission
• Disablity Athletics Support Officer for England Athletics.

Since returning to the UK in mid 2011, I have coached Para throwers onto the ParalympicsGB team for the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. I was also part of the Channel 4 athletics commentary team for the London Games.

Since London 2012, I have continued to support and promote disabled and Paralympic throwers through my own coaching squad, AORSquad, and athlete/coach development and mentoring. I have also worked with the charity Remap designing an adjustable seated throwing frame, the Protean STF, for athletics club use.

I was 2014 and 2016 Head Coach, and 2017 Team Throws Coach for Team UK for the Invictus Games.
