Damien Bowen

Damien Bowen - F34 Javelin & Shot


Damien was in Para athletics class F34, a seated cerebral palsy (or similar) class.


Damien started athletics in 2006 and went to his first Paralympic Games in 2008, in Athens.  He finished 7th in the F33/34/52 Javelin. 


Damien  worked with Alison  from 2009 - 2011 improving his javelin from  26.52m to 31.93m and Shot from 7.76m to 10.35m.  Damien then went onto improve his javelin best in 2012 by another 3m.


 

Damien's major athletics achievements (most recent first) include:

2012 London Paralympic Games 6th place (F33/34 Javelin) - 35. 72m

2012 London Paralympic Games 12th place (F34 Shot) - 10.21m

2011  IPC Athletics World Champs, Christchurch, NZ 4th place (F33-34 Javelin) - 30.90m

2011  IPC Athletics World Champs, Christchurch, NZ 8th place (F32/34/52 Shot) - 9.79m

2010 Commonwealth Games, Delhi, India, 4th place (F34 Shot) - 9.92m

2008  Beijing Paralympic Games 7th place (F33/34/52 Javelin) - 26.52m


Damien retired after the 2012 London Paralympic Games, and now runs a successful  rehabilitation practice, Vibe Rehab
