Coach Education & Development 


Alison has an education background, is a qualified PE teacher and has lectured in student teacher education in both Australia and the UK.




















Alison faciliates coach development workshops globally, mostly in the area of Para throwing, and has presented at a number of Coach Education conferences including:

  • 2023 Coaching the Adaptable Athlete, England Athletics International Jumps and Throws Conference, Loughborough, UK.

  • 2023 Coaching Seated Throws, Portuguese Athletics Federation Coaches Conference, Lisbon, Portugal.
  • 2020 Biomechanics of Seated Shot Put, Polish Institute of Sport, National Research Institute, Warsaw.

  • 2019 British Athletics Para Athletics Coaching Symposium.
  • 2017 IPC VISTA Conference, Toronto, Canada. Oral presentation entitled - Biomechanics of Seated Shot Put.
  • 2017 ICCE Global Coach Conference, Liverpool, UK. Poster entitled - Holding Pole Position and its influence on trunk movement in Seated Shot put.

Alison has compiled and written a number of inclusive coaching and info resources for England Athletics including



She was Athletics Australia Coach Education Manager for Paralympic athletics from 2004 - 2008 and was responsible for the updating and rewriting of Paralympic specific coach education resources during this time. She also faciliated the delivery of this Level 2 coaching course throughout Australia.
