Alison has followed a PhD study programme focusing on applied biomechanical practice to seated throwing.  She is a world leader in seated throws research and has been an integral team member of the Parashot project.


The Parashot project has produced a number of resources for coaches, athletes, officials and biomechanics using evidence-based practice.  All details can be found on the Parashot project website.

Alison has worked closely with Remap over the last few years, designing and developing seated throwing frames for many GB athletes.  She is now a consultant to Remap working on developing a generic throwing frame for club  use, thereby creating greater participation opportunities for seated throwers.


This throwing frame, the Protean STF has been supported by England Athletics.

It has recently been launced nationally and is available for purchase.
